XRey and The Witness
Spring is in the air at last and what better way to celebrate than an evening of non-stop live music at the Brussels Rhythm and Blues Club on 21 st April, with guest band XRey, plus BRBC house band The Witness.
XRey is hoping to make its mark on the Belgian music scene. The band has already performed at venues in Belgium, France and The Netherlands and has a song from their debut album, "Déjà Vu", on a CD compilation released in Belgium in July this year. The heart of the band is vocalist Reynold Pereira (Rey), who wrote and produced all the songs from their debut album. Originally from Singapore, Reynold has been plying his trade in Europe for the past eight years, first in France and now in Belgium. The current line-up consists of Reynold on vocals and harmonica, Alex Pellegrino on guitar, Patrick Pletinckx on bass and Mario Zola on drums. The music from their first album comprises of mixture of blues, rock, swing and some tinges of jazz and reggae. BRBC house band The Witness will be back with their unbeatable cocktail of Jimmy Reed, the Flaming Groovies, Little Richard, Bobby Womack, the Kinks, Howlin' Wolf, Bo Diddley and others, plus their own compositions.
